Recent Tech Accomplishments

  • Architected and lead the CPS Google Classroom Remote Learning project, which ensured that every teacher and student had an automatically generated Google Classroom ready for School Year 2020-2021. This allowed our students and teachers to easily connect during Covid-19 remote learning and was instrumental in the District’s ability to ensure our students have a high quality, equitable education.
  • Supported the District’s Covid-19 response plan, bringing together key stakeholders for timely and mission critical projects to engage the District’s parent population, re-architect solutions where needed, and ensure any issues and roadblocks were cleared.
  • Wrote the Request for Proposal for the Identity 2.0 program at CPS, a seven-year, multi-million-dollar solicitation to completely rebuild the CPS Identity and Access Management Environment. Organized a cross-disciplinary RFP selection committee.  Successfully completed the transitition project with a minimum of downtime, and continues to support the overall IAM and SSO environment with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Played a key role in the CPS data center move from the Chicago Loop to a co-location in Elk Grove Village.  Our team  successfully migrated over 2,000 physical and virtual servers in the span of three days, including all required storage and networking infrastructure, meeting our required deadline to bring critical systems back online.
  • Helped design and implement a 21st century video conferencing solution using Google Hangouts as part of the overall CPS move from the previous central office location on 125 S. Clark street.
  • Panelist at the 2015 Camp IT Cloud Computing Strategies conference.

This project created over 100,000 new Google Classrooms through automation and had to overcome a number of systemic hurdles due to the limitations of Google Classroom and Google’s API infrastructure.
  • Supports the ongoing Google Classroom Integration project to bring more seamless integration between the District’s Student Information System and Google Classroom.
  • Supports and co-architects the District’s Curriculum Equity Initiative, a multi-year program designed to bring high-quality digital curriculum to the entire District, supported by automated rostering and single sign-on (SSO).
